I met with the lovely Sylvia Razak the other day to get her nutritionist advice on what recipes to include in the recipe booklet that everyone on my Mothermoon Workshop will be getting. One section of the booklet will be devoted to new mum friendly snacks and I thought I'd share some of them here.
Cake and biscuits can often be the go-to snack and if there's anyone who deserves a slice of cake it's a new mum! If you're feeling caked out or want something a bit more nutritious all of the snack recipes are quick and easy to make, packed full of protein to fill you up and give you an energy boost and easy to eat one-handed!
Oat cakes are a great snack option and versatile as they're a
good base for lots of different toppings:
- avocado, lemon juice and pepper
- hummus
- nut butters like almond butter
- tahini
- cheese
Fruit and veggies are another quick and easy to eat option. If you want to jazz up your apple slices try them dipped in nut butter.
Celery, carrot and pepper sticks can be dipped in nut butter, guacamole or hummus. To make life even easier, wash and chop a bunch of veg so it's already to go when you're feeling peckish.
Do you have any snack ideas that you would add to this list?
